9.11.01

We won't, we can't ... we will not forget.

While my husband and I were walking through our local VA hospital today, at the precise moment that the first plane hit six years ago, an elderly lady came on the overhead speaker system, and asked everyone to take a moment in silence - to remember all who were involved in this country's most tragic terrorist attack. Our immediate area in the hallway became silent. No footsteps, no voices, and even a few bowed heads.

We all think back - where were we when we first learned what had happened on that eventful day six years ago? From that moment on, if we could find one, we were glued to our TV screens. We watched in horror as the events unfolded right in front of our eyes. Since then, we have read many articles, wondered at how it could have been prevented, received numerous patriotic e-mail attachments - all to keep alive the deep-rooted sense of freedom we all enjoy, and the ongoing fight to maintain it.

To all military personnel, and their families:

To all law enforcement and fire-fighting personnel and their families:

To the families of all who perished that day:

To those who continue to suffer in so many ways:

WE WILL NOT FORGET....
